SUMMARY: Coordinates and facilitates tasks related to the daily operations of a specified location with the goal of increased focus and production of clinical staff. These tasks may include, but are not limited to, processing of orders, orientation of new employees, coordinating of daily work schedules, answering questions and responsibility for building and maintaining relationships with Physicians, Clinical Staff, Discharge Planners and other professional referral sources.

  • Responsible for Respiratory Therapist duties listed in HRFM0003 job description while leading and overseeing the daily operations of designated team.
  • Delegate job responsibilities efficiently and insure that delegated tasks are carried out properly and in designated time frames.
  • Recommends and assists ongoing training and educational activities related to both specific and general job topics.
  • Work with manager to meet department goals.
  • Assist with communication forms as needed.
  • Answers questions and works though issues with team.
  • Assists all internal/external customers and including referrals in a professional manner.
  • Maintain a positive, empathetic and professional attitude toward customers at all times.
  • Coordinates staff to work in conjunction with hospital, physician office, home health and hospice, nursing home, and clinic staff.  This includes education on medical criteria requirements, insurance guidelines and compliance requirements.
  • Assist in coordinating high tech equipment deliveries with the clinical, MET teams and referrals.
  • Complete competencies and surveys as needed.
  • Lead the team on department processes.
  • Proficient with Airview, U-Sleep, EPIC, Paragon, Wellness and HDMS.
  • Engage in active listening with customers, confirming or clarifying information and diffusing angry customers, as needed.
  • Understanding and striving to meet or exceed department metrics while providing excellent customer service.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES

This position will lead a team of Respiratory Therapist working with department management.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be professional, proactive and positive with internal and external customers and coworkers. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and/or Experience
 
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 4 years’ experience in durable medical equipment, preferred.
  • Must be registered or certified as a licensed respiratory therapist.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and insurance with a good driving record. Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Leadership experience preferred.

Skills & Abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently while leading a team.
  • Customer service orientation.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good data entry skills.
  • Proficiency with computers, with strong typing skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Must have 100% department knowledge.
